Elon Musk Confirms Ludicrous Mode For Tesla Model 3

Elon Musk confirmed on Twitter that the Tesla Model 3 would indeed be available with Ludicrous mode. For an additional fee naturally.

Ludicrous Mode

As with a couple of Tesla reveals so far, Musk has nonchalantly replied to fan’s tweeted questions with honesty, breaking automotive news in the process and sending Tesla fans into an excited frenzy.

With Ludicrous mode taking the buyers of the Model S by storm, I can imagine every Model 3 potential owner before the announcement was champing at the bit to know whether the same would be available for them.

Secretive Specifications

Well, there are no specs as of yet – everything is being kept rather hush hush – perhaps for the purpose of part two of the Model 3 launch. Part one of the Model 3 launch in Los Angeles displayed only a partially completed interior that looked minimalistic to say the least. Despite this secretive approach of revealing the Model 3, the crowds at the launch received the car enthusiastically.

Speculation says that as the Model 3 will get from 0-62 mph in under 6 seconds (that’s all Elon is giving us for now), the Ludicrous mode can only be even better than that. But not better than the Model S P90D’s Ludicrous mode that reaches 0-60 mph in an unbelievable 2.8 seconds.

The Long Awaited Teased New Roadster… With Maximum Plaid

Also new in the Tesla world, Musk confirmed last year that a new Tesla Roadster was in the making, built-on from the car that started it all. The new update says the new Roadster will have an option for Maximum Plaid mode; even more impressive than the Ludicrous mode we’re to believe.

“There is of course only one thing beyond ludicrous, but that speed is reserved for the next generation Roadster in 4 years: maximum plaid.”

– Elon Musk

With plans for an even more powerful mode in the works, the Model 3 receiving everyone’s favourite feature and a new Roadster on the horizon, Tesla can only impress from here on out.
